people ragging on new users for not having a 100% perfect first impression of the place makes me feel kind of bad for basically having been the same way when i first joined

give people time to cultivate their opinions of things, even if they seem really trite or whatever at first

sometimes I need time to fuss a bit in my own space before I can absorb everything that's going on or have the time to formulate appropriate feedback.
