This social network #mastodon doesn't seem to get off the ground. There are technical shortcomings, but I guess what makes most of the difference is the missing userbase.

Also, it's been built by a single dev over the last four months; it's obviously not finished yet.

@zatnosk I'm not leaving yet. Actually, what I'm missing most apart from people is an open API, which is the hallmark of a good social network: the possibility to integrate it elsewhere.

@lexLohr What have you done to connect with people here? Post interesting content? Interact with people who do? Bring your friends over? You can't expect to get followers or people talking to you just out of the blue.

@lexLohr there are plenty of users in the network, have you followed the public timeline ? Or looked at other OStatus sites in the federation ?...
