Don't we all enjoy reading these half-conversations? It provides ample space for imagination: What could this be? Who said what? Is he talking to himself?

lol! :-P

I know, right! This broken thread problem can be really annoying on small instances like mine. I'm often left wondering how much conversation has already passed in the thread, and whether it would be appropriate to join the thread.
@lohang @arunisaac you could create a #federationbot account on your instances and make it follow accts whose posts you miss in convos
Hmmm... The federationbot idea is a bit of a hack, but it's not too bad... But, apparently gnusocial will soon have proper federated thread resolution. So, I'll wait for that.
@mcscx @arunisaac will it update already existing conversations or give better context for future ones? How am I to know who will be missing in future conversations to make the bot follow them in advance? Doesn't look like a proper solution to me. Besides, running a bot requires additional knowledge/skills and resources.
Yeah. Half conversations are serious problem. I have to go to the other instance to get to know the full conversation.
@solariiknight fediverse detective work has to extend to at least three or more instances before you get the full context of a long conversation.
> extend to at least three or more instances
Not to mention temporarily allowing javascript for quitter instances...
@lohang It used to annoy me but I've come to appreciate it.
