The recent beef ban has is beginning to raise demands for a separate country comprising of South Indian states(called USDR, dravidanadu, etc). This time, this arose primarily from Kerala which has strongly rejected the North Indians from regulating their food intake. Below a short news report

This has caused a sharp response from the North Indian lackeys from Tamil Nadu who are blaming 'separatists', pakistan's ISI, etc.

The demand for a separate nation now is has been spoken in whispers. This is the first time I'm seeing it reach the mainstream media. I've noticed the people in Tamil Nadu and Kerala are primarily interested, with a lukewarm response from Karanataka, Telengana and Andhra Pradesh. The idea of dravidanadu does not seem to be a threat to union of India yet, but it will serve as a reminder for the North Indians to not take us for granted.
lol! Is this even real? :-P

Anyways, I'm not in favor of secession. It may feel very good, but we'll probably end up with the same or worse problems all over again. Rather, greater decentralization and federation is the need of the hour. The states should gain more freedom from the Centre. And, the districts, towns, villages, etc. should gain more freedom from their State governments. Such decentralization can enable us to quickly dismantle stupid ideas like UID (Aadhaar). Nothing wrong with a united India, if we all enjoy relative autonomy.
Right now the benefits of secession is not much compared to being a part of India. However, I believe the idea of India as a homogenous entity has to be countered with alternative narratives as dravidanadu and emphasize that federalism.
