Any thoughts on Terry Pratchett's Discworld collection? 📚

@helena some of the books were formative for me, and remain familiar favourites (those featuring Sam Vimes and Granny Weatherwax especially)

some of my favourites in the series are Guards! Guards!, Men at Arms, Reaper Man, A Hat full of Sky... honestly though the books I like are more numerous than those I don't

@verityvirtue they seam to have a lot of potential. When you say that you mean there were actually books you didn't like? Did you read them in what order?

@helena I picked them out from the school library in somewhat random order, really

I think it was the first two, Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic which completely failed to capture me, mostly, and to this day I haven't read e.g. Interesting Times, Eric, Unseen Academicals or, for some reason, The Last Hero. Your mileage may vary, of course.

@helena of course I'd say if you like:

noir --> Guards! Guards!, Men at Arms, Feet of Clay, Jingo, The Fifth Elephant...
Good Omens-style mythical figures (Death, mostly) --> Reaper Man, Mort, Soul Music, Hogfather...
witches --> Equal Rites, Sourcery, Wyrd Sisters, Witches Abroad etc.

@verityvirtue thank you so much for all this! I'm really excited to begin 🙃🙃
