Been struggling with exhaustion lately. Not sure if it's the long winter, lack of a pressing emergency or my d*#m thyroid. But today I noticed that both my apple tree and ornamental cherry were filling my windows with blooms. A little delayed, but seemingly more vibrant than in other years. Hoping that after a good period of rest I too will burst back to life.

@Tdorey hope you get rest - (speaking personally) sometimes I don't see exhaustion until it's way too late, and then it takes ages to recover. My husband reminds me - it takes time to rest. ...whereas I'd often quite like a quick nap to fix it.

hope you can make time and are able to rest.

...as for the tree, you will have good apples later this summer!

@lauraritchie Thank you. Resting I am. I am sleeping soundly at night (even dreaming) for this first time in about 17 years. I wake up rested and am great for about 10 hours, then am ready for more sleep.

Although it *makes me crazy* to not be able to *do* more, I'm trying to accept (and not fight) it, trusting (clinging to hope ?) that this dormant period will serve a purpose and lead to something better, like those apples (in its own damn time).

@Tdorey @lauraritchie I do hope this dormant period serves a useful purpose. And I'd bet that it does. I sometimes have that sort of reaction after a long period of stress and not enough downtime. I'm amazed at how much I can and seem to need to sleep at those times. Don't know if this is similar for you, though.
@clhendricksbc @Tdorey I can't function without 8 hours of sleep at the moment- so today's early morning means there will be a nap later (after essay grading) - work hard, play hard, sleep hard. -like a cat, I will be in a pool of sunshine curled up somewhere...

@lauraritchie @Tdorey Oh, a cat in a pool of sunshine sounds so lovely. We are finally getting above 20 degrees here in Vancouver starting tomorrow I think. And I just want to bask in a pool of sunshine!

But now it's about time for me to go to bed here!
