Tent is (was) an attempt at decentralized social media protocol, but generalized to be do any kind of federated information sharing. The protocol got stuck on a beta version a few years ago, when the core team, who weren't open to cooperation, decided to focus on their YC funded startup instead.

@NinahMarie @zatnosk I just started using G+ again, they must have changed something because I feel like I see people I want to see and they see me again.
For the past few years every time I've logged on it's felt like I couldn't see anyone of them.
