@timrowe Yay! Apparently there was quite some resistance to identification in those days, but everyone had a transport subscription of some kind. Some people did comply and got themselves an ID card, but often they got up to all sorts of mischief with them. I heard of a certain collective of GPs who treated undocumented foreigners for free. If hospital care was needed, they arranged an ID swap with a Dutch citizen and they wheeled the patient into the OR themselves.
