now i get to go down the rabbit hole of open source monitoring systems
@KitRedgrave I personally roll collectd/graphite/grafana, but I've heard good things about influxdb
@amrofnoc influxdb and the associated projects look like good stuff
@KitRedgrave A friend of mine recently started using influxdb with good things to say. I haven't felt any pressing need to migrate myself, but it could be cool if I have to set up another monitoring system and have the float to experiment
@[email protected] tmux+top. htop for hipsters.
@KitRedgrave nice knowing you, I shall sing your song on the solstice in remembrance.
@KitRedgrave I've personally always used statsd+graphite for my own stuff, but I've had a lot of good experiences with prometheus+grafana at work lately

@KitRedgrave please don't use ganglia though

it's for your own good

@KitRedgrave I’m a fan of Icinga2 (a much improved fork of Nagios). Lots of plugins, graphing, etc.
