hmm

would like a linux distro that I can set up x or wayland on directly so I can experiment with a pure environment in [something]

but arch has always failed in some way or another for me and I have to build a lot of software already so I don't want to wait for gentoo to build all of that software's dependencies

what other options do I have

@StarLust it seems interesting, though this note from the download page is funny

"PLEASE NOTE: To install the desktop environment, DON’T choose “install from network” choose the local install. VERY IMPORTANT!"

I'll try it if Alpine doesn't work out; I don't intend on installing a DE for this test anyway
