can anyone rec me any good anime? like REALLY GOOD. I'm super picky about my anime but somehow I feel like watching something good (it can be trashy good) but yeah. I don't usually watch anime so older suggestions are ok too?

@myles @aemarc i been watching this and it's really good.

i'm not a big anime boy but i also like FLCL and Paranoia Agent a lot. They're not huge commitments either because they're both miniseries.Both are surreal and funny and have really good music.

@aemarc Start with the beginning of Brotherhood and skip the original series 👍 It's a little dark in the beginning, but it gets reeeeeealll good.

@aemarc I'm pretty picky with my anime as well. If you like Gurran Laggan, then you should give Kill la Kill a go. It's bonkers in a good way.

If you can find it, Paranoia Agent. Nobody explores the psyche like Satoshi Kon. It's at my local library of all places!

Psycho Pass is a cool futuristic police procedural.

For laughs, Gintama. Just start with Episode 1.

For beat 'em up Shonen with a twist, I second JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

@aemarc FLCL is pretty good, Kyousougiga as well. From the New World, Kara no Kyoukai, maybe the Gundam series (I personally enjoyed 00, and I've heard Iron Blooded Orphans is good too). Ghost in the Shell is classic Cyberpunk, maybe Jin-Roh too. Ergo Proxy, Eureka Seven, Future Diary, Voices of a Distant Star, Redline, Madoka, The Sky Crawlers, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars.

I could go on for a while.
