@sungo How's GS/pA been in comparison to Mastodon? Is it worth switching to?
@chris Depends on what you're after. pA's code base is more stable, better developed (imo), and requires way less resources but there are known federation issues and tensions with the masto side of the fediverse.
@chris If you want to customize your instance, pA is superior. Through plugins or themes, you can change just about anything. Want an XMPP interface? Want to pull content from Diaspora? Want likes to be florps and the timeline to be sideways? It took me days to figure out how to customize shit in Masto and I've had to fight merge conflicts ever since.  On pA, I've got a custom plugin. So, for me, ideologically and technologically, pA has been better.
@sungo Ah, that's good to know. Yea, my experience with tweaking Mastodon has been similar. I'd probably switch to pA as well then, if it weren't for the compatibility issues with Masto instances.
@chris The compatibility issues aren't huge or debilitating. Masto's privacy scopes aren't supported. Masto don't support conversation_id on threading so shit gets kinda wacky sometimes. That's pretty much it right now. But the schism is growing and I'm not sure what the future holds.
