Interesting how different Linux desktops cater (or not) for "I don't want to see the clock on the screen".
MATE -> Right click, remove
Unity -> Tickbox in settings
GNOME Shell -> You can't. Write an extension
elementaryOS -> Uninstall a Debian package
@popey that UX argument of hiding all of the clutter and settings for the user not to be overwhelmed is just ludicrous; there should always be a balance, and I think unity did that pretty well.
@popey We wouldn't you want to see the clock?
PS: You can't remove it on Windows 10 either.
@popey three cheers for MATE 😁
@popey You forgot KDE. 😏
@ebassi Only because I haven't tried it on that one yet. :) Also, expected that KDE would have 5 clocks on screen at all times! ;)
@popey btw can't you remove it with the Gnome Tweak Tool?
@RyuKurisu Not that I could see.
