This is the only #oer17 toot

@scottbw Only if you are counting tagged toots.

I know at least @lauraritchie and I blogged about mastodon in a blog post about #OER17

But maybe by not tagging, we're missing opportunities to connect?

@Tdorey @lauraritchie yes, if you don't use a #tag, then it won't turn up in any searches across the federation

@scottbw Yeah... Speaking only for me, many of the conversations I have here feel more like friends in a coffee shop, not something I'd think to tag or broadcast. Not closed because anyone can overhear and jump in, but not exactly public.

Now also thinking about this in relation to hospitality, welcoming others and barriers... Don't have answers, only more questions... thinking...

@Tdorey @scottbw it's a tricky one- I agree with Tanya about the conversations, and it's hard to know if it's ok/etiquette to post about a blog post? I wrote something today that was quite a reflective thing, and I'd love to share it, but only if people are interested. I wouldn't want to 'blat' it at people. tricky to know where the boundaries are? I'll post it and see... I like the tag 'smallstories' -will use that one, to test the waters?
@lauraritchie @Tdorey personally I like it when people "advertise" their blog posts on twitter/mastodon/fb, as otherwise I'd never know they were there.
@scottbw @Tdorey as long as it's a 'thoughtful' one, I'll share :) if it's strictly academic burbling, maybe that's better not on here. One toe in, now wading in the water...
@lauraritchie @Tdorey the "strictlyacademicburbling.com" domain is available if you ever wanted to set up a Mastodon instance for it :)
