So I have a question for @eric @tomhusband and anyone else interested. Given that Facebook, Twitter, etc. are all now being used as Russian propaganda channels, is there something about Mastodon that makes it less likely to be another channel of fake news? That would be of real value.
@MikeChapman @tomhusband no man-made constructed platform can ever surpass critical thinking. mastodon is the third little piggy in the big bad wolf story - i forsee it eventually being another tool for special interests to spread misinformation.
the issue is not so much mastodon, the issue is (american) society's absence of critical thinking and researching facts.
naturally, this is all super opinionated, but i can back this notion up.
I pretty much agree with you @eric and I often wonder if this is more about humans than Americans, and if it's just a part of the human condition that could take millennia to correct, if ever. @tomhusband
