@whodknee @BryanLunduke @sri well yeah, fedora and antergos also uses wayland by default but I woudn't say that we are there till no commercial driver is available ie. for nvidia. I know many don't give a damn, but still I don't think that wayland is mature enough for newbies when there is a huge difference between the performance of gfx drivers. and in my opinion ubuntu is more newbie oriented
