I recently redid my profile and one of the things I'm keeping is being out as trans. The reason for this is mostly political. I'm in a position where I can afford to be out: emotionally, personally and professionally.

I am not out for cis folks. You all don't need to know.

I'm out for other trans folk. To be visible to those who feel alone. To be visible to those who are questioning.

@iarna visibility's hard. This is why I tell people about trans+enby+ace thing, though. This is why I'm open about MH and poly stuff.

Things would've gone so differently for me if I'd actually been able to meet trans people earlier in life. If I'd managed to normalize that instead of seeing is as end-of-the-world.

So, thank you for being out <3

@zkat Yeah I'd include my own ace and poly stuff, but I ran out of room =D (Before I had them, but my profile was just a list of words then, and I wanted some personality.)
