@johnson would that be possible to have alternative keybindings for us, poor #evil mode users?

@saper Hmm. Is the problem just "j" and "k"? Or a normal mode problem in general?

I use Spacemacs so I have to go into insert mode before I can use the keybindings. I wonder if I just put evil users into insert mode automatically, would that fix the issue?

@saper I'll look into evil support. I have a vested interest in it myself.

I think, in the meantime, you can pop into insert mode to get around the shadowing. Spacemacs uses evil under-the-hood and that works for me.
