Trying to read about some of the protocols OStatus is based on. Lots of dead links. Salmon, portable contacts (poco), lots of draft pages. No wonder everyone implements these things differently - finding the correct documentation is actually pretty hard.
@deoxxa OStatus is pretty old. Have you looked into XMPP Social Networking?
@stitchxd I haven't - but it's on my rough mental list of stuff to look at. Only reason I'm particularly interested in OStatus is because there seem to be several implementations of it. Are there many implementations of the XMPP protocols?
@deoxxa Take a look:
https://xmpp.org/ (General XMPP Information)

https://movim.eu/ (XMPP Social Network)
@stitchxd interesting! I'll stash this away to look at sometime soon.
@deoxxa I recommend ejabberd + movim for a decent IM + Social Network
@stitchxd ejabberd is excellent software. My goal with this whole OStatus thing though has been to implement as much of it on my own as I can. It's been an interesting experiment, and has allowed me to explore some corners of tech that I use every day that I hadn't managed to dive into yet. Perhaps my next experiment will involve XMPP :D
@deoxxa Good luck!

@stitchxd it's going pretty well so far!

@deoxxa Looks pretty good!! Never heard of "Go" but good luck!
@stitchxd thank you! I've been using go for a few years now and have been *extremely* pleased with it. If you're into programming stuff, you might enjoy checking it out too :)
@deoxxa my instance is running a lot of custom code that I wrote. Mainly the Qvitter interface. You can see all my different project on https://gnusocial.me/url/8634
@stitchxd @deoxxa Wow, you're a busy guy. Is fediwiki your creation? Cool. I'm a fan of #TiddlyWiki.
@jas fediwiki is a small set of files that I've either collected or made by hand.
