@dkernohan @Lindacq thanks for the link, I had somehow missed your blog posting at http://followersoftheapocalyp.se/all-the-words-of-wisdom-sound-the-same-opened16/. Proceed with caution indeed. Is is an intrinsic human need to measure and validate and reward (and compete)? Intrinsic or not #altmetrics and the open education movement should indeed proceed with caution and avoid falling in to the Same Old Traps of measurement and simplification
