The weird, decentralized nature of mastodon reminds me of oldschool internet socializing – IRC and newsgroups.

@Publicvent I've recently lamented that so much of the "modern" internet limits individual community building in favor of corporate platforms. So this is just.. it feels nice? :D

@celeste Yeah I agree. It's very refreshing and it's nice to be on the ground floor of something new that's gaining popularity. Honestly facebook, twitter, are becoming stagnant and unappealing.
