@badger_ do you know if Alpine Linux a reasonable option? It seems to check all the boxes; Linux, grsecurity, simple. I get that BSD is better in many ways. But linux-isms have infected my workflows.

@bliving @badger_ I've heard people recommend Alpine Linux and it doesn't have systemd.

That said, I'd urge you to try OpenBSD at some point. The ways it tends to be different from Linux are usually ways in which it works like you'd hope. Generally if I can get someone to *try* OpenBSD, they are sold.

@kurtm @badger_ +1 on the no-systemd sentiment.

And +100 on OpenBSD. I've used it for production workloads since the last millennium. And for desktop duties as well. It just makes so much sense to me.

My only hurdle is packaging linux-only software. It's a pain. And I'm not the only one involved.

@kurtm @badger_ ya, it seems like the closest thing to the "OpenBSD of Linux". I need to set aside some time to dive in.

@bliving @badger_ I've heard Bob Beck mention using Void Linux. That's another on "perhaps I'll look at some day" list of Linux distributions.
