Part of my thing is that there’s a whole lot of development which needs no conclusion. When you rehearse an instrument, for instance, it can be part of a project but it needs not be. There’s a lot to be said about open-ended musicking, even if it’s SIN (Self-Indulgent Noodling).
Another part, to me, is about humble #microprojects. You do quick little things which can serve as building blocks later. Or not.
