@Baggypants @Korruptor I'm not a huge fan of having passwords online (even if they are encrypted), online password managers are always going to be at risk (look at lastpass, for example).
The idea of managing them myself via git is more appealing but I think what I really need here is a better home network so I can sync it myself and keep everything in-house.

@ben0_o @Baggypants I'm syncing Enpass from a private Nextcloud instance. And I can wrap that in a VPN if I want to. It's not the same as last pass, so not "online" in that sense.

@Baggypants @ben0_o That's specifically why I choose it, I didn't trust 1password not to change model (I was right) and pass, that cli thing, became a little too fiddly on mobile. Enpass was the sweet spot of decent client, fair price, and me having network control over the data.

@Korruptor @Baggypants ah ok, that's a bit more interesting then. I admit I know nothing of Enpass which is why wrote it off as being in the same category as lastpass and the other online pw managers.
I think I'll investigate that one further, cheers!

I didn't say online. I said a git repo. You could host it on your desktop. Access it with ssh.

@Baggypants @ben0_o I used that for a year or so, the browser extensions and clients are all a bit flakey.
