Them: I'm sorry, sir, the tires you ordered didn't arrive, but we have these others.

Me: No problem, they're the same price, so go ahead.

Them: Actually, these tires cost $20 more per tire.

Me: No, really, they're the same price.

Them: Yes, sir. They're the same price.

@geobabbler can you do this with my rent?
@thepoisontart Only if they try blatant bait and switch on you. :)
@geobabbler boo. I keep trying to bargain 2-3 year lease for rent that stays the same and they look at me funny - then I remember they make more $ rotating tenants in and out vs stable tenancy.
@thepoisontart Since they're going to increase anyway, what if you try to meet in the middle and negotiate a fixed increase? Keep it manageable for you and be able to plan for it.
@geobabbler they're unwilling to do anything other than standard leases. The management company is not in town, and every time I ask about options for *anything* (even beneficial to them) I get shut down. They just own the property as a revenue stream.
@thepoisontart Ah. That sucks. Sorry to hear that.
@geobabbler *waves hand in front of them* "They the same price." "Yes sir, they're the same price. Move along, move along."
@quix It didn't hurt that there's another tire place literally across the parking lot. :)
@geobabbler Love the jedi mind tricks.
@bil @geobabbler These are not the studded snow tires you're looking for.

@geobabbler - 2nd year running the garage called to say my tires and brakes are a little worn and will need replacing next year.

The joys of remote working!
