a problem that I have with textual communication: sometimes I say "this is sincere" or "I'm not kidding" because a statement sounds sarcastic on its own, but adding that clarifier just makes it sound more sarcastic

so I end up being like, "I mean this sincerely and I'm also being sincere about my sincerity!"

@sonya At least here you have enough characters to both say something sincere and note that you're being sincere about your sincerity aboht the thing.
@iansltx you're right, it helps :D
@sonya I just try to never be sarcastic or facetious online. I often fail at that though, because I'm pretty sarcastic by nature. I am being sincere with this, though!

@klintron @sonya

I am never not-sarcastic so I don't have that problem. :P

@sonya sup dawg i herd u like sincerity
@sonya I totally agree. Sometimes though, you just have to leave some interpretation of meaning in the hands of the receiver, because ergh squishy humans and our wetware and our feelings and our silly pattern-recognising eyes and ears.
@sonya I'm pretty sure everyone that knows me reads everything I say in a kind of bored, sardonic tone. I can't help it, it's just they way I talk.
