As I see more toots en français on the federated timeline, I can't help but wonder if they are "toots" or "pets." Has the UI been localized at all?

It's "Pouet!" in the UI. "Pet" means fart which wouldn't be a good translation.

Right. In American English "toot" is very commonly used to mean fart, so that's why I was wondering.
