The Time I Emailed My Windows Phone A 700 Kilobyte .csv File And Mobile Excel Wanted To Send It To The Cloud For Conversion

(And Also There's No Builtin App Capable Of Displaying A Text File)

Why does the Microsoft online service need to convert some Office files?

A service that ensures all your files are up-to-date with the latest security updates and features.

This same Windows phone woke me up in the middle of the night installing an entire operating system.

But it can't display text files, and its Excel can't load CSV.

"To do this, we send certain types of files (shown in the table below) over to a secure Microsoft service over the internet for conversion. The converted file is then sent back to your device immediately."

did... did you just actually try to tell me that sending you all my corporate files is "secure" because "we don't look, honest"

did you actually say that to my face
