Speaking of first time user experience, there is probably a lot of room for improvement for the "onboarding" screen. It's kinda out of everybody's mind because you only see it once ever.

I get to see it more during development, and it doesn't look great.

@Gargron if I had a framework to do this it should be replaced with little callouts explaining various UI elements, non-modal

@saper Yes, that would be better, I think. Though the modal also tells you who your admin is... But that is probably comparatively neglible information given it's available elsewhere.

@Gargron or, a simple variant, a whole onboarding could be shown as a column. Maybe as the initial contents of the Home screen, since you probably do not follow anyone.
