martinthe only place i've ever really felt safe and comfortable online is in a timeline full of people i hand-picked with no pressure to perform for a larger audience and nobody who i wouldn't let stay the night at my place, so idk if this webzone was ever going to be the webzone for me??
feel like there's a lot of nostalgia for old IRC / forum cultures which i get, they were a unique environment and some good stuff grew from those places, but idk. i think that misremembers how toxic they could often be by virtue of weird power relationships and cliques and venues for complaining about each other.
a thing i miss about public twitter is the feeling of coming across a new person or getting involved in a conversation organically? i guess that's something i could go for here?
