A plant, but it sounds like a fried snack food or something you do while you're trying to avoid something else, i.e. "I participated in a bit of fritillaria today, surfing Mastodon rather than writing." New word for spending too much time alone on Mastodon - masurdoning! #masturdon #greatword #wordsthatblowup
@beansie Hahaha! Something like that. It's my favorite word (that isn't German). So much fun to say. You want to say it over and over again forever. Too bad it really is just a plant. It needs to be soooo much more than that.

@beansie The common name would be "fritillary", which is marvelously close to "fritter" and probably why you thought of a fried, sugary treat andf probably why I am now craving a sugared donut or churro. 'Fritillary" can be either a plant, or a butterfly, btw.
