Xavier Ho 🐱🗡One thing I would like to see on Mastodon is a way to migrate your account from one server to another. Maybe I am on social.tchncs.de now, but maybe I want to be on awoo.space. Later on, I might even have my own server. Being able to transfer is essential to owning an identity.
FelixArden@Spaxe I chose social.tchncs.de all but at random because I was under the impression it didn't really matter what I chose. The opportunity to switch if it turns out I was wrong would certainly be comforting.
@FelixArden Pretty sure we'll have to start from scratch. I'm planning on setting up my own instance... but maybe there's no gain.
