what kind of hardware are you using and how many users do you have?
what are the bottlenecks?
ashley@dot_tiff ram, it won't build nor start with 512mb of ram, added a 512mb swap and it seems fine ($5 digitalocean vps)

i'm a BSD person so i'm not into docker either, was just under the impression it was the "blessed" way to do it.
@dot_tiff i thought it might be easier, looked at instructions, was quite lost, then built an ubuntu server because it seemed to be what the guide was for
