Also, all the animated gif avatars on the public timeline thing are annoying and distracting, I wish there was a way to turn them off.
I reported a bug about this ages ago, and it was closed, but I still see animated gifs with no way to disable them :(
@elad3 they're also legitimately potentially dangerous
I think it was originally rejected because the community agreed to take it easy on that stuff which worked okay but obviously that kind of social contract breaks down a bit with sudden huge surges like this
