@0xdeadbabe yes but the UX seems to be starting to work now and compared to that the tech is easy, so we can fix/replace the tech

@0xdeadbabe I have a sort of vague idea of running ostatus and XMPP in parallel and preferring talking XMPP to nodes that support it
