@yitzchoklowy If everyone posted novels scrolling through the timeline to keep up with the people you follow would be very bothersome. Brevity has its perks.

@gargron @yitzchoklowy I think a 500-1000 character limit strikes the balance.  140 chars is way too restrictive and more than 1k is a lot to read.

@archaeme @Gargron @yitzchoklowy I think 140 makes sense for twitter because of the SMS roots. You were supposed to tweet shower thoughts, not your political manifesto. :P

politicians can delete a tweet on twitter but they can't delete the tweet that already left twitter and on people's text messaging client.
