I've been switching to julian days and decimal time these past few days as part of my on-going effort to radically change society. Formed a group to help, and we've already got clocks on various platforms/devices/languages: JS/web, python, bash, rockbox, mac, gnu/linux, etc.

There's been talk of setting up a matrix server on cjdns/hyperboria as well. HMU if you're interested in something like this. Planning on decentralizing everything, improving lifestyles/culture, and pushing anarchism. Cool stuff.

@April Genuinely curious about the advantages of Julian days and decimal time. Know any reading material on the matter?

@null We're actually using a modification of julian days. Namely that julian days doesn't use strict decimal time and instead does some wonky division with leap seconds. So instead we stick to decimal time and add in the 27 leap seconds, which offsets us a bit.

The benefits are mostly mathematical in nature, but also rejecting earth's drift/slowing, so we can avoid leap seconds/leap days/etc. Essentially future-proofing the calendar.
