End-to-end encrypted Direct Messages would be a terrific feature for Mastodon. Twitter won't do it so it's a nice reason to give to people to migrate.

@fj Not that the mastodon UX supports it, I want to say folks worked out encrypted Atom entries close to 10 years ago. So, there's at least a tech foundation for it IIRC
