@bleak this still looks super yum!!
@ThatDamnCat probably no one needs to see the after pic, but i bet i could make it look good anyway

@bleak ...

*wipes face*

Just... no.

But I wouldn't mind getting one of these when I come to California

@ThatDamnCat hey, it's my job to take stuff and make it look good!
@ThatDamnCat also also, these things are allllll overrrr the bay area. love it here <3

@bleak They're here, too, from food trucks.

Austin is similar to Bay Area but warmer and not as compact

@ThatDamnCat is there a heavy viet population there?
@bleak Yeah. Mostly in north Austin. Started in the late 80s/early 90s with tech and is still growing strong
@ThatDamnCat interesting! is the burgeoning industry tightening the spaciousness of austin any?

@bleak Not bad. We have more tall buildings downtown but the area is still so large and spread-out that it doesn't feel too cramped. There is a lot of green-space here.

I live pretty close to where these pics are taken https://mastodon.social/media/GIwm1QfAQFdh-CcCOTY https://mastodon.social/media/sxmYBcA9NAfpi3-fDVk

@ThatDamnCat gosh the copses along the river all look like magical places to relax in

@bleak That's not the river in the first pic.

That's Barton Springs Pool... a thousand-foot-long spring-fed pool and where I learned to swim as a kid.

The 2nd pic shows the river. It's okay, but the pool and the nearby creeks are better to swim in.

@ThatDamnCat spring fed pool? is the water potable? :o

@bleak Yes. It's very clean water and very nice.

I wouldn't drink it much... but it won't hurt you.

There's another pool across the river that isn't as large but is fed from a very deep well, and is also fresh and cold.

@ThatDamnCat also3: have you seen any of my professional photography? i posted a bunch on here a while ago
@bleak Yes, I've seen. Made me miss doing it myself. *happy*
@ThatDamnCat this is always my favorite response to my work
