@djsundog @bea So, the push subscription is there (I got notifications on Android for this conversation), but for some reason, it is being sent as null to the front end, which then creates a new subscription, hence the welcome message).

also just noticed clicking one on destop chrome doesn't open my existing mastodon tab but a new one :c

@bea @djsundog Will see what I can do. Regarding opening a new tab: the reasoning is that if I click the notification I want to see that notification - focusing the current tab does not achieve that. This is what I expect - not necessarily how it must be implemented. Would be nice to gather all this feedback here to get it right when this is released: https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/4200

just off the top of my head...

i'd say it should use the current tab but have it open the status from the notification (if it's a mention open that, if it's a fav/boost open the original)
