ashoka Scotland voted democratically to remain in the UK in a very bitter and divisive referendum. As a teacher I saw a lot of former friendly pupils split and become venomous towards each other. We were told by the SNP throughout that this would be a "Once in a lifetime vote" and also a "once in a generation vote." Those rivalries have continued 3 years later and I don't wish another time where neighbours hatred boils for each other, even my own family were deeply divided and it still hurts, there are still members that don't speak to each other because of how they voted. So I do feel like I can speak with authority on this matter seeing how family and also the children I teach were turned throughout a very bitter campaign.
