in mastodon's case, for me, i think it's just kinda clunky.
in appearance, but also like. it's crashed my kinda small, weak laptop before and twitter and tumblr (despite being a jungle of code) never have.
i do still appreciate the bigger character limit both for posts and even for thigns like usernames tho
