It's just painful to hear that clicking noise when I just want to recover data from the disc. Especially because it's a SUSE Linux 9.2 Professional. https://mastodon.rocks/media/Gxa3We3wkqOWB6IIAZI
@MTomic2003 Do you have another drive to try and read the disk from?
@randynose Yeah, but the problem is in the CD (DVD, actualy). It's heavily scrached. I have 3 copies and none of them work. Tried booting into VM from physical disc and I can't install it.
@randynose And I know there is the ISO on the internet, but my connection is too slow. I hate my ISP.
@MTomic2003 Well, sometimes you just have to DL and bite the bullet?
@randynose Well, in my area, it's an overnight job. You can't download jiggawatz of data just like that! 😀 And that ISO will be there for long time. I just wanted to make a backup, if possible.
@MTomic2003 Well, do you have another computer that has a CD/DVD drive on it? Sometimes trying to read a disk from another drive is all you need to do.
@randynose Nope. Doesn't work. Tried with my Windoze Craputer, which actualy read the DVD faster, until the point where it has just too many scraches.
@MTomic2003 Well, that sucks. - Hey, so where are you where you've got suck sucky internet?
