I get really tired of people trying to tell me that Billionaires are a "Western" problem.

Billionaires are a global problem, none of them are benign no matter what their race or gender, so let's stop pretending that this is a so-called Western problem https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_number_of_billionaires

The only way to defeat Billionaires is through democracy, which is why the Billionaires hate it so much. Stand up and defend your democracy while you still have it, or fight for it if you don't!!!

@kim_harding It feels strange to me to talk about bilionaires like they were a complete separate specie of humans. They're us and they also feed off us. We collectively participate to the system that creates them and happily so in the hope of getting there ourselves eventually. 😉

@jeantranscene Not entirely true, we used to have controls in place that stopped the creation of monopolies and so limited the ability of parasitic individuals to gain outsized wealth and power.

They want us to believe that we too could one day become like them, to stop us from putting those controls back in place.

For the good of the planet AND humanity, there is a very urgent need for democracies to fight to get those controls back in place...

@kim_harding Sorry, no. There's no conspiracy just convergeance of interests. There's no they, it's just us, what we decide to put our money in and the consistency with which we keep voting in (for those of us who still can) the very people eroding the controls you refer to.
