Ruth / Anarchae@dreadfulsanity We did it!!! 🇨🇦 🎇 🎇 Right up until the final whistle I didn't think it would happen. Our manager is playing silly buggers over our star injured player, our striker isn't striking, our key midfielder broke his leg, it's been a mess, but they pulled it off.
@anarchaeopteryx I saw that foul that led to the broken leg on live stream and I don't think that moment will stay in my head forever. 😬 That said, I'm happy for Canada for as far as they will get. And I will cheer for y'all especially when they face (probably) the Netherlands next round. Netherland and German football fans have a deep, deep rivalry. 😂
@dreadfulsanity It was really awful, the TV station here didn't even play the close up replay after it happened. 😣 You never know in the world cup, I think Morocco isn't that bad and the Dutch aren't as strong as they used to be, but we will be happy to have the support either way! I don't think Germany has to worry about Canada, you would have to beat France first, but there is a tiny chance we could meet up after the Quarter Finals!
@anarchaeopteryx Yeah, nah. We will not get past France. I don't see it. But hey, we made it past the group phase for the first time since 2014, so 🎉 😂
@dreadfulsanity Yes, making it to the knockout round alone is a big success for us as well, now it is all just icing on the cake.

@dreadfulsanity Yes, we have a sliver of a chance against Morocco. I watched the highlights of the Germany game, the penalties were painful. I hope we don't go to penalties as well. 😖 The Canadian women have won important games on penalties before but I have zero faith in the men.

@dreadfulsanity Ah, he hasn't resigned yet? I saw that the Dutch manager resigned. Apparently the hot topic in British and American press is how arrogant *our* coach is 😅 I think it is part of the job, especially at this level. Who except dickheads want to be telling other people what to do and talking in front of literally a billion people?
