@drajt I visited Cork once with a friend, and it was just wonderful. Just there for two days, and sadly without a bicycle, but we loved the town and it was cool to discover that George Boole (as in Boolean)! did all his work at Queens in Cork.
It was just a very pleasant place to be - not so hectic as Dublin was.

@drajt Getting out of Cork City absolutely should be beautiful for hiking and biking. Of course you could visit Cork City, but that is city and not rural. I don't know about the camping part though.

@drajt There are lots of really good back roads that you can cycle on, as well as some dedicated bike tracks. https://www.opencyclemap.org/ or similar is your friend. Ringaskiddy to the city might be difficult, the main road is not for the faint hearted but there are a couple of smaller roads. There are also some serious hills in and around cork. Camping is possible, but the weather may be wet. There are plenty of B&Bs and other accommodation try to book ahead. If you're stuck, ask anyone for help.
