@ahihi
This gave me memories of being a kid walking along a busy road and finding hundreds of feet of cassette tape loose where someone threw it from their car
@RnDanger @ahihi yeah sometimes I romanticize tape and think, "what if we sent big files around in the mail …" but then I remember what tape is like.
Just saying this comic hits its mark.
@travisfw @RnDanger the truth is that my current tape problems are entirely different ones. but this one is easy to draw and visually fun

@RnDanger @ahihi

There was a radio DJ in London decades ago who got people to mail in mangled cassettes found by the road. His tame techie would unscramble them enough that they became decipherable.

IIRC, about 75% of them turned out to be Queens Greatest Hits.

@ahihi is this the plot of that indie game I keep hearing about, Cassette Beasts? πŸ˜›
@ahihi Wait, wait, I got you covered.
@ahihi
Is this a metaphor for tripping over your own mental health

@ozzelot i think its more about trying to do simple things and failing in complicated ways

causes vary but mental health is not unrelated

@ahihi
i try to do something, expand it to oblivion, and my mind becomes a dot in the unravelings
@ahihi
Terrible!
And terribly funny.
Thank you SO much.
@ahihi Sequel idea: Pencil saves the day!

@ahihi

Memories of listening to a friend's copy of a horrible rap album on tape where the broken tape was literally tied together. πŸ˜‚

Actually was a fairly functional splice. πŸ˜„

@ahihi

This reminds me of a horrific day in grade 11, when I woke up one morning and found that a mouse had moved into the drawer I kept my tapes in. Any that weren't safe in a case were now its nest. I lost a good third of my entire music collection in one night.
