#forscience i might suffer today

There is a claim that if you point your fan outside of your window about 30inch away...you can cool your room...

Its now 06:00 and this is the inside temp...and the fan set-up... i put it like this to keep mostmof yhe warm out side air out, and to make our home as sunlight deprived as possible...

I also closed that door so no hallway air... can mess it up because there is to much space...

I also closed all the outside doors.

Lets see if this hack is true...

Don't worry, i stilm have a "bladeless" fan amd hand fan (kudos if you know where it is from) to keep my self cool...

I will see if i can do regular updates on the temperature...

Yesterday, the thermostat put the max temp it was inside on 30° which is insanely high...
Seeing the temp dropped 6 degrees due to me airing out the heat as it was 22° outside this night...i kinda hope this hack works... but im doubt full...

its 06:30 now and the temp went up by 1 degree, no i have looked it up, and i should keep the drapes open... I do have to admit that the air behind the drapes was indeed colder. then in front of them... (so window side colder then not window side.

The temp should be lower outside, so i did the scientific thing and opened te drapes and opend the window more.

looking into it more, it turns out me closing the (kitchen) door, made the room warmer, seeing how it is now colder outside...i opend the front door, so i can circulate air better.

accroding to weather forecast it will be colder then 25 degrees outside till around 09:00...

i got air flow going now, (thank you door decortaions)

and yes the temp has dropped 0.5 degrees.

Dont worry, when the out side temp goes above the inside temp i will close the window and door, to keep the temp mostly as is then... but if this works , i might have to do this hack tonight.

the main reason i am testing this is intrest if it works, and if i can keep my indoors manageable, today should be warm too, but tomorrow friday, it should get even hotter outside, if this helps me to maintain a good indoor temp ( i hope below 24) this will make my life a lot easier.

I am aware the building etc is still radiating heat also...

temp now dropped back down to 24...
and yes i made the mistake, of keeping everything open yesterday... ( i fell asleep in my BD's with 2 fans on me)
I know this was a mistake, but i can have my dumb moments.

"why dont you just get AC"

Well the price, and our financial state....

its not well enough for a (mobile) ac.

we have contemplated it (We is me and Akkemai)

but becuase of the heat, theyre sold out.

i hope the temp drops below 24, but i fear it might not, so the plan now will be to keep it around 24
@Noortjevee 24 seems pretty good indoors. (No airconditioner here either.)
@Noortjevee yup, ours read 29.5 all day, with a brief spike to 30.5
@webhat i just ended the experiment the temp went to 24,5. so i got the groceries, and closed everything.
@Noortjevee I hope you two are able to keep the temperature constant
@webhat its 25 now Akkemai left for work so she will be in AC :P
@Noortjevee
It's also the outdoor temp right now.... you can try to use evaporation to cool a bit, but that room looks like an oven. Good luck Noortje, take care!

@JorisMeys here it is 22 outside,

and the 1st setup made the temp climb to 25. after opening the door, curtains and window, i can see the temp dropping to 24,5 just now...so there is certainly some ligitimacy to the claim... Time for cofee and breakfast outside now :)
