Ahhh! It's really really tempting, but on the other hand, I am waiting for the Steam Frame! 6GHz streaming will be a game changer!

I always hated setting up my old Rift S because of all the cables and drivers from Meta yuck!

Y'all waiting on the Steam Frame as well?

@stackpointer Well, since you asked, yep. I've hold off of trying VR, and I will never give Facebook a single cent, so the Frame might just be one I'll finally spring for. Comfort and ease of use (when it comes to setting up and start playing) feel like the most important factors for me personally if I'm going to stick with it, and so far, this one does seem promising.

@seq

100%!
I just hope that the price doesn't jump up that high like with the Steam Machine.

I think they said that the Frame will be cheaper than the Index, which was at around 900$.

@stackpointer With the current market ruined by AI techbros and Valve being the small player it is on the hardware scene I think we should be prepared for more than that though...

@stackpointer @seq

Unfortunately, that statement about it being cheaper than Index came before the global price jumps. Frame will likely be affected by it as well.

@stackpointer I am, was never a fan of Meta taking over Oculus after I got my Rift CV1. Owning my hardware, not being reliant on the whims of a corp, worth the full price, whatever it will land on. Also having gone full Linux gaming, the OS will be familiar.

Been waiting for nearly a year now since my CV1 broke and was living on copium that the rumors about new Valve headset were real, though didn't expect it'd take this long and even longer. Still, at this point a bit longer won't hurt.
