With yesterday being #Top500 day at #ISC26, today is #HPC ingenuity day - where #supercomputer centres and vendors alike exercise their imaginations to claim how they are leaders in the world of supercomputing. Maybe it’s #1 in country A, or makers sector B. Perhaps it’s the highest share of top 35 (or top 70 or whatever) systems using our memory chips. Either by count of systems or aggregate flops, whichever metric wins. It could be the biggest “sovereign” (means what we want it to mean) supercomputing painted red and dedicated to CFD in the eastern half of the country. Whatever works! 😁 Oh and be sure to mention they are #AI supercomputers too. It’s easy to diss this practice, but how about instead we just celebrate the ingenuity of the marketing teams of HPC centres and vendors, and let each enjoy the moment of limelight for spending/winning their money with a successful deployment. 👏👏👏
